In memory of Rosalita Patience, Rosie Fund was established in 2016 to help other dogs like her find their forever family. The mission of Rosie Fund is to provide humans with the resources and education they need to give senior and harder-to-adopt dogs a better life.

Our board members and volunteers use their expertise and talents to identify dogs who are older and/or have other challenges that make them a harder-to-adopt dog. We get to know these dogs — working with them so we can film, photograph and create promotional content to shine a spotlight on often overlooked but lovable dogs. Additionally, some of these dogs benefit from having their adoption fee sponsored by Rosie Fund or by receiving a Rosie Life Starter Kit, which includes a collar, leash, ID tag, food, treats, toy, and additional gift card to purchase other dog necessities at the local shelter’s retail store.

Rosie Fund is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization with a Gold GuideStar Seal of Transparency. Donations are tax deductible and 100% of donations go towards supporting our programs of Sponsored Adoption Fees and Rosie Life Starter Kits.

Roux.jpg

Roux is an almost 9 Year old Terrier, Pit Bull/Mix in foster with KC Pet Project. He is a happy boy and sports the best smile. Roux is also super smart. He has excellent leash manners and knows basic commands. Roux only plays with his toys and doesn’t get on the furniture unless invited.

Roux loves car rides, walks, and play time. After a busy day, this sweet boy loves cuddling up with you to take a nap. Roux has quite the fashion sense. He’s often found sporting a festive sweater which he picks out. He’ll lower his head and dance while waiting for you to put it on.

Roux would be happy to be the only pet but is open to a female dog sibling. He is best suited for a home with older children and no cats. Like all KC Pet Project dogs, he’ll need to meet all family members before going home.

Visit Roux's page at KCPetProject.org to learn more. If you would like to visit with his foster or meet Roux, please email foster@kcpetproject.org.
